A contemptible theft was perpetrated at the Beynon Restaurant on Saturday evening last, when between $30 and $40 in bills was taken from the till.  The theft was committed with a slickness that would have done credit to a pupil of Fagan, and this leads one to the belief that this miserable little trick was the work of one who knows the run of the place.  We hope the guilty one will be found.

R. B. Bennett off for England

     R. B. Bennett,Calgary's distinguished member of parliament, departed for England a few days ago.  For some months the story has been bruited about that Mr. Bennett, having subjugated all things political about him, was seeking new political worlds to conquer, and that he was about to enter empire politics.  Mr. Bennett assured the Albertan, just prior to his departure, that his trip abroad had no political significance whatever.

It is understood that Mr. Bennett's trip is in connection with a deal of considerable magnitude and involving one of the principal industries of the prairie  provinces -- Albertan.

We think we are correct in saying the business in question is in connection with a Cochrane enterprise.
