There is serious amount of excuse for the rumour that Eaton's had bought out the Campbell store.  The vast improvements and enlargements being carried out naturally gave rise to such rumour, but on inquiry we find that although it is going to compete seriously with Eaton's this store will still trade under the same old name of J. Campbell.

Football Match

The Cochrane footballers journeyed to Mitford on Friday evening last and  played a very enjoyable game with the coal-heavers.  The homesters were the better team, and came out winners with the score at 4-1.  After the match the Mitford boys gave the visitors such a thorough good time that they intend making the same trip again shortly.

     Teams:

     Cochrane: j. Beynon, goal; W. Blankstein and S. Peyto, backs; J. Flindall, C. Peyto, W. Beynon, half-backs; R. McNamee, J. Davies, R. Carruthers, T. Menzies and J. Lamb, forwards.

Mitford:  Caldwell, goal; Thompson and Duncan, backs; Lumsden, Williams and Cook, half-backs; Russel, D. McMillan, Simpson, Gillespie, and Black, forwards.
